Description of the Project
Aims of the project
The basic aim of the project is to save the Wenckheim-Almássy Castle in Gyulavári and to carry out a touristic development in connection with it. Within the project we are planning to create a visitors’ center for tourists in the castle - built in the 18th Century - and in the castle park located in Gyulavári district of the city of Gyula. The center’s purpose is first of all to present the valuable cultural, natural-environmental and economical sites of the Southern Plain.
It is also an aim of the project to contribute to spread the fame of the Southern-Plain in Hungary and internationally as well, and to strengthen the local people’s identity, and through these to develop the local economy and decrease migration. We make an effort to create an information and tourist centre, which would make the region’s eco-touristic potentials popular.
